About
I explore the enigma of memory; its impermanence and its depth. I explore the fear of forgetting and the determinationto collect objects and informatio n as a personal archive, which I then
deconstruct,
alter,
reorganize, and
reassemble.
This work is trying to obliterate the self and then bring it back ininin some
uncanny way .
I and
fragment compartmentalize
by building and taking away; I pervadeboundariesbyextendingbeyondconfine- ment.
I USE MULTIPLE materials in orderto create associations or make it harder to determine the
chronological history of the place. BOLD BLACK lines separate and reorganize space such
like Susan Howe fragments her poems and Gertrude Stein creates associations between words.
I offer a perfectly constructed chaos. . .. .
--My interest lies in using the portrayal of individual human confinements in order to challenge zoning issues and social dichotomies within communities. I have this general attraction to develop transcendent figures within my sculpture/paintings and create constructed ethereal experiences within my installation work. I use the environment as a condition and a mystical experience at the same time.
